But no fix has been generated and distributed.yet. I - along with several/many others - have already put in a report to Steam about the problem, since from other forum reading/posts, I've concluded that the problem is with Steam (and probably DRM date elapsing-related). home/jacob/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization V/.This happened (as of June 15th) for many offline-only players (doesn't seem to affect online play of Civ5 or other games that other people have reported are equally disturbed - like Borderlands, XCOM, Civ BE). home/jacob/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization V/./Civ5XP: Symbol `_ZTVN10_cxxabiv117_class_type_infoE' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking home/jacob/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization V/./Civ5XP: Symbol `_ZTVN10_cxxabiv120_si_class_type_infoE' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking Loaded Config for Local Selection Path for App ID 8930: /home/jacob/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/241100/523551908/429322699312489274_legacy.binĮRROR: ld.so: object '/home/jacob/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_64/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64): ignored. Civ 5 won't launch install#
This problem does not happen when I try to run the game from a fresh install of manjaro from the 16.08 disk image without updating.

A window will briefly draw for the game, then the window will dissappear without any further sign of the game running. After updating manjaro to the October stable update, I found that Civilization V will no longer launch.
